The new SME 4-2-1 race header has been optimised for the 2L and the new FA24. Unlike most NA headers on the market that will fit the 2.4L, we have optimised this header featuring larger primaries and with collectors manufactured with perfect angle specs to provide the best scavenging and exhaust flow for optimal gains both in the mid range and all the way to 7500RPM.
Handcrafted here in Sydney with mandrel bent 304 grade stainless steel featuring 3 x 2 into 1 merge collectors per set of headers and a 2.5” outlet flange to the overpipe. These race headers are also catless for maximum NA power gains. The 2.5" will suit most applications, however we do offer these with a 2.75" outlet flange for the ultimate track header on the 2.4L motors
These efficiencies make the UEL header obsolete for the FA24 as the as the mid range torque with the 4-2-1 race header is incredibly strong without sacrificing flow for top end power
Our dyno testing has proven our latest 4-2-1 headers are far better than our previous 4-1 race headers. Although we supplied the older 4-1 race headers for the 2.0L FA20 motors, we have back to back tested the new 4-2-1 race headers over the older 4-1 race headers on both the FA20 and FA24 and the results are fantastic. With the new 4-2-1 headers out powering the old 4-1 headers everywhere especially that dreaded 3300-4100rpm torque and power drop
Tuning is always recommended after modifying the front half of the exhaust to maximise power gains and it will be necessary in this case to clear the O2 sensor fault code. Even without a tune we have shown these headers to have very strong mid range power gains however when accompanied by a 98 or E85 tune the power gains are great across the whole rev range as seen in the dyno chart below. The FA24 went from 148kw up to 176kw at the wheels with full SME exhaust and E85 tune! Absolutely awesome!!
